New to my blog? You may want to learn more about me, subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter.

I made it home pretty last night. Late enough to render the evening useless, but still early enough to see the second half of the Lakers losing to my beloved Celtics, who earned a 1-0 series advantage heading into Sunday night’s game.

So, it’s obviously been a while between blog posts. And, the topics vary from entry to entry. If there’s one thing I learned in Seattle this week, it’s that I need to be consistent, and I need to bring it on a regular basis. The truth is, I’ve simply been lazy.

I’ll try to stop that.

Quick Recap
My recap here will be intentionally short. I owe a detailed recap to many people, and I’ll be working on that for much of the day today.

Let’s start off with a simple but strong thank you to the crew at Third Door Media who graciously extended a press pass for me to cover the event for Search Engine Journal.

The SMX Advanced show was an absolute blast. I met tons of new people and got a chance to spend some quality time with great friends in the industry… which at the end of it all, stands out the most.

My only immediate complaint (if it’s really a complaint at all) is that the conference is too short for an East Coast guy with a family. Flying across the country and losing a day to travel both coming and going is a tough proposition for a two day conference. The agenda, sessions and network events absolutely made it worthwhile though – so I guess it’s a moot point.

The accommodations and venue for the conference was fantastic. Very easy to get around, everything was centrally located, etc. There was an abundance of public transportation to get us around the city, and we certainly used it to our advantage.

Big Thanks…
As I get ready to write up my recaps for Search Engine Journal, I’m left with tremendous thanks for those who covered the event so well. It’s no surprise of course to see great recaps and liveblogging skills from the likes of Barry Schwartz (for Search Engine Land and Search Engine Roundtable), Tamar Weinberg, Justin Davy and David Wallace (all of whom assisted with Search Engine Roundtable coverage), and of course Lisa Barone and Virginia Nussey from Bruce Clay.

There were many others too… I just have limited ability to spread my do-follow link love. So, a big heartfelt thank you goes out to you all for allowing my abbreviated notes to make much, much more sense.

Sorry, no related posts could be found...

Eric totally agree on the length of SMX and travel. I wish for an extra day – even if it were roundtables and less-formalized sessions where we could share knowledge and get to know each other a bit professionally.
