SEO Consultant, Analytics Strategist & Trusted Advisor

I’ve been working in SEO and digital marketing since 1999, starting in web design and evolving alongside search, analytics, and content as they’ve grown into what they are today.

Over that time, one thing has stayed consistent:
Businesses that understand how people search – and how to measure what’s working – have a clear advantage.

My work focuses on helping teams and business owners get to that point.

Since 1999
I got my start in web design in 1999 and have grown alongside search, analytics, content, and digital strategy ever since.

Marketing Leadership
I currently lead marketing operations, SEO, and analytics work within a large, complex organization where performance, measurement, and scalable growth all matter.

Agency & Consulting Partner
I support teams including Teal Media and Beyond the Bots with practical, plug-in SEO and analytics strategy built to move projects forward.

Hampstead to the Wider Market
Based in Hampstead and serving the Topsail area, I bring local search awareness backed by experience supporting broader markets across the U.S.

What I Do

Today, I work across SEO, analytics, and content strategy – helping organizations improve visibility, make sense of their data, and focus on what actually drives results.

That work often includes:

  • Technical SEO audits and site evaluations
  • Google Analytics 4 and reporting strategy
  • Keyword research and content planning
  • Local search visibility and positioning
  • Workshops and hands-on working sessions

Some of that work happens with local businesses here in Hampstead and the Topsail area. Some comes through consulting, referrals, and partnerships with agencies and internal teams.

Experience That Shapes the Work

I currently serve in a marketing leadership role at Haskell, where I help lead SEO, analytics, and performance initiatives across a large and complex web environment. Alongside that, I continue to consult independently and partner with teams like Teal Media on SEO, analytics, and strategy work.

Earlier in my career, I’ve worked:

  • As a consultant supporting businesses across industries
  • Inside agencies delivering SEO and analytics strategy
  • On my own projects, building and monetizing content-driven websites

That range matters because it keeps the work grounded. There’s a difference between theory and execution, and most of what I do is focused on what actually works in practice.

A Local Focus – Without a Narrow Lens

I’m based in Hampstead, North Carolina, and I care a lot about helping local businesses grow.

This area has a unique search landscape:

  • Seasonal demand driven by tourism
  • Year-round service needs from residents
  • Search behavior that shifts depending on time of year

Understanding that changes how you approach SEO.

At the same time, I continue to work with organizations outside the area, bringing broader experience into the work I do locally.

How I Approach SEO and Marketing

I don’t sell pre-packaged SEO programs or long-term contracts.

Instead, I focus on:

  • Identifying what’s actually holding a site back
  • Prioritizing what will make the biggest impact
  • Giving clear, actionable direction
  • Making sure you understand what’s happening and why

For many clients, that starts with an audit or a working session, then builds from there based on need.

Workshops and Teaching

One of the most valuable parts of this work is helping people understand what’s behind the numbers.

That’s why I offer:

  • 1:1 working sessions
  • Team workshops
  • Local, in-person consultations

The goal isn’t to create dependency. It’s to give you clarity so you can make better decisions going forward.

What You Can Expect

  • Direct, honest feedback
  • Clear prioritization – not long lists of low-impact tasks
  • Practical recommendations you can act on
  • A focus on outcomes, not activity

I tend to work best with people who want to understand what’s happening, not just outsource it entirely.

Recognition and Contributions

Over the years, I’ve contributed to the broader SEO and marketing community through:

  • Published work with Search Engine Journal
  • Speaking at industry events like SMX and Affiliate Summit
  • Participation in search quality and standards discussions

I’ve also written hundreds of articles, audits, and reports across SEO, analytics, and content strategy.

Why This Work Matters

I’ve worked with businesses at a lot of different stages – from early startups to large organizations.

What stands out most is how often good businesses struggle simply because their visibility or data isn’t clear.

Fixing that doesn’t require more complexity. It usually requires better structure, better focus, and better understanding.

That’s what I try to bring to the work.
